R.A.B.B.i.T. (Rope Assisted Ballistic Bunny in Transit) is a fast-paced and precise arcade game for mobile devices. You take control of a succession of ninja rabbits and swing gracefully through buildings in a futuristic landscape using only a rope and a grappling hook. The game features procedurally generated levels, giving you a new challenge every time you play.
R.A.B.B.i.T. started life as a pretty simple idea; an endless grappling-hook game with similar game loop and level of challenge to Flappy Bird. The key was to absolutely nail the swinging mechanics, however, and make them feel super-responsive and natural. We went back and forth on a number of different mechanics in the prototyping phase, and eventually settled on something that we felt really worked. Art was also going to play a bigger role than in our previous game, Defendy Rocket, as the game would require a lot of environment art, and a fully animated character. Throughout the development process, we made the game open for anyone to play, which allowed us to gather feedback, and also gave us an insight into how people were playing the game, and whether the mechanics were enjoyable.
